RASAM POWDER
Ingredients:
Coriander Seeds, Red Chillies, Cumin, Fenugreek, Mustard, Black Pepper, Curry Leaf.
Directions of Use:
(for a family of 4) 1. Pressure cook 60g(4 tbsp) of Toor Dal in 800 ml of water with 1 tsp edible oil and a pinch of Turmeric powder for 4-5 whistles. 2. Churn the cooked dal and keep aside 3. Boil tamarind extract (20g Tamarind fruit in 100 ml water) with 1 tbsp (15g) of S.K. Rasam Powder, Salt to taste and little Jaggery (if desired). 4. Add 3 medium sized chopped Tomatoes (50g) and 1 cup Grated Coconut while boiling for better taste. 5. To this add cooked churned dal and little water to adjust the consistency. Boil this for 5-10 minutes. 6. Crackle ½ tsp Mustard, Curry leaves in ½ tbsp. hot cooking oil and add to the boiling Rasam. 7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with Rice.
